Launching Nokia X5 officially arrives on July 11 Review

Nokia X6 arrived back in the middle of May, and now it’s time for the next phone from the portfolio of the Finnish brand. The Nokia X5 will be announced on July 11, as the company confirmed on Weibo.
The event will take place in Beijing and will begin at 8 PM local time, meaning by the end of Wednesday we will have details on the upcoming phone.
The Nokia X5, rumored to carry the name Nokia 5.1 Plus on the global scene, will have Helio P60. According to previous info, the MediaTek chipset will be coupled with 3/4 GB RAM.
The screen is likely to be notched with an HD+ resolution and 19:9 ratio. The dual camera on the back will be 13 MP + 5 MP, according to TENAA, and the battery will be 3,000 mAh.
Prices are expected to start from CNY800 for the most affordable memory combo and go as high as CNY1,000. This translates to $120-$150, which should make the X5 an incredible bargain.
HMD Global announced the Nokia X6 for the Chinese market and the Nokia 5.1 for the global markets. Now a love child between the two phones with a model number TA-1099, allegedly called Nokia 5.1 Plus or Nokia X5 is listed on TENAA. Yesterday we reported the specs of the new phone and today the listing got updated with images of the phone.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus/Nokia X5 will have either Helio P60 or Snapdragon 600-series chipset. There are plenty of memory variants with three RAM options – 3/4/6 GB and two storage options – 32/64 GB. The images do not reveal the notch, but we already know there is one since the resolution is 1520 x 720 pixels, or HD+ with 19:9 ratio.
The battery is rated at 3,000 mAh and the phone should have clear Android Oreo. HMD Global promised OS updates for the next two years and security updates for the next three years, so hopefully the new device will also be part of this program.
The Nokia 5.1 Plus has just stopped by for the usual TENAA certification revealing the key specs of the device. The info comes shortly after the Bluetooth certification hinting at nearing launch.
Anyway, as usual, the TENAA document lists most of the specs that you’d be interested in. We’ve got an octa-core processor clocked at 2.0 GHz, so we can safely assume it’s one of MediaTek’s Helio P-series or Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 600-series chipsets. The SoC also features 3GB, 4GB and 6GB of RAM along with either 32GB or 64GB of expandable internal storage.
The device will be built around a big 5.86-inch display with 720 x 1520 HD+ resolution with a notched design. The camera department will feature a dual camera setup on the back with a 13MP primary unit and an 8MP front-facing shooter. The battery is rated at 3,000 mAh and it seems that the efficiency of the SoC will determine the overall battery performance of the device.
